I have the number 9277 on the rings, what does this mean? I find no reference for this number on BO web site. But a google search reveals NSN badger ordnance .... 1005-01-449-9277

Why do I ask, not enough clearance between obj and barrel for BC flip up scope cap to slide on so I am worried I need taller rings even though I like the low mount for a super tight cheek weld.

Thanks

if it is engraved into both rings its the serial number of that set of rings. Badger does that to ensure that the two rings that were cut at the same time are still together

hey jason you do some voodoo editing to get your post in front of mine? I posted 21 seconds before you???? To the OP i had to dremel the bottom of my BC caps to make it clear on my PH 5-25 looks a little funny if you take it off but otherwise you cant really tell

Re: BO Rings Number 9277 what does it mean?

Thanks, I put the dremel to it and it slides on but I see some dark areas unless its on perfect so will work on it some more, worried it will break in the cold being thin but the tape thing is a fix-it if so.

Got the idea of using electrician tape wrapped around the whole cap to hold it on.

Many thanks

If the double sided tape on the BC cover doesn't pan out, try Tommy Tape. It's got a bunch of other names, but it's basically a rubber tape that's only good for sticking to itself. If you cut the bottom of your BC cover away, you should be able to take the Tommy Tape and stretch it about 12 times the original length and wrap around the BC cover base. It'll just stick to itself, and if it doesn't work out, there's no adhesive residue.

Just something to think about.
