Bolt action in 5.56?

Re: Bolt action in 5.56?

Just get a Remington in 223. The biggest difference in chambers is the throat dimensions, and the throats in Remington rifles have a nasty tendency to be a country mile away.

Or get a .223 Wylde chamber cut on it when you rebarrel.

I thought the difference in .223 and 5.56mm is the chamber pressure. If you were gonna go to a Wylde chamber why not go to .223AI?

Anyway, I'm fond of Savage in .223 but Rem. 700s are real reliable as far as feeding/ejecting goes. My Savage came with a flimsy plastic stock but the Rem. 700 was stiffer.

So, just depends on what you want it for...
