I just recently got my form 1 back for my sbr. The upper is a 7.5" noveske. For some reason, the carrier is about an inch shorter than my POF carrier. It unlocks if I tap the rear of the rifle on the ground. Can anyone explain why it has such a short carrier?

Before I have a catastrophic failure, I would like to hear your input.

I'm thinking that I should just buy a new one..

I can upload pictures later.

Re: Bolt carrier question

Haven't seen a shorter carrier. I know BCG's designed for full auto will have a bit more mass to them but never saw what you're experiencing. Have you shot it in that state or do you have another to swap it with?

Re: Bolt carrier question

A standard M16/AR15 carrier is not the same as a POF carrier. You need to compare apples to apples and make sure that you're comparing it to another DI BCG. Insert the bolt carrier into the upper and seat it fully forward into chamber lock. The back of the carrier should be about flush with the back of the upper receiver. If you have a significant amount of gap, you have a goofy BCG and should get another one.

Is it a Noveske BCG?
