Rifle: Howa 1500 mini acction, 6.5 grendel
Load: Varget 28.0 (min) to 28.5 (max), 120 gr SMK, COAL 2.20, Lapua brass, federal primers
So I having been working on load development for my 6.5 grendel, the first 25 rounds down the barrel were 24.0gr Varget, below the minimum load. These had no case markings at all. But as soon as I stepped it up to the published load levels from 28.0 to 28.5gr varget, I am getting some bolt face marks, or polishing, on the case. This is my first brand new bolt gun, so I am wondering if its just a rough spot on the bolt? It couldn't be pressure signs could it? The primers aren't flattened, and it even shows up on the cases that were fired with the published minimum load data.
