I ordered a Deviant last week and had no clue which bolt nose style to get. The options were coned, flat, and recesssd (Remington type). My question is what difference do each of these make on function and performance? Is either one more desirable for a tactical precision rifle? Rifle is a Short action And will have a Bartlein 1:8 rem varmint chambered in 6.5CM. And will sit in a T4A. Main use will will be tactical comps out to 1000. As of right now it's ordered as a recessed like a Remington since that all I know, but can change it if I let them know with in the next few weeks.
Thanks for your help
Brett

Cone is for a single shot. Not sure about the flat other than a claimed improvement using the M16 extractor.

Bought my Deviant 4 weeks ago with recessed (Remington type).

the cone suppose to feed better when using a sled and the flat is technically stronger at the face because it is surrounded by more metal, but I've never heard of a bolt failure in that area on any gun and when you chamber the barrel there is no need to have the recessed face on the barrel like the standard Remington.
