I've been starting to get bolt over base type malfunctions on the last round in the mag. I'm shooting a 300 win mag in a Rem 700 in a classic AICS chassis. The mag is an original AI mag. I'm guessing I need to tweek the feed lips but before I start down that road I figured I'd consult here first. Or maybe the mag just needs to be cleaned. Totally spit balling so happy to take whatever advice is out there.

Thanks.

Being that it worked and then started having issues, seems like it has to be the spring. Try another mag if you have one, take the malfunctioning one apart and see if there is some debris/crap down in there. See if you can tell a difference in the spring tension between that mag and another one. If its noticeably loser, that's definitely the problem.

Update... So looks like it was the mag spring. Compared to a new mag the spring is very weak. I was somewhat surprised that it wore out so quick. Called Mile high about a replacement spring and follower. Was told probably not but I need to follow up this week with their parts guy. More to follow...
