Boresighter = crown damage?

Re: Boresighter = crown damage?

So what are the other options other that a magnetic leupold type or the one cartridge fits one gun type? While barska doesnt make the best stuff what about this style? Sweeny is another brand that comes to mind.

There are plastic models and coated models and models that go in your chamber with adapters, etc. Plus, you could always just take the bolt out, peer through your barrel at the target, and adjust from there.

+1 I've used everything from a lamp-post, flagpole, windowframe and church spire (and a few others beside) to bore sight.

All you need to do is make sure your rifle is bagged and level and the objects you are sighting are at a known or closely estimated distance.

A couple of rounds at the range should then be enough to finish the job.

FWIW I've tried the Leupold Bore Sighter and couldn't work it out at all....probably just me, but I thought it was a complete waste of time and money.

NO!

Kinda like guns, or any tool, they don't do anything unless someone operates them.
