So, looking at the M5 BM at stocky's, how different is it from the CDI footprint if the stock has already been inletted for it? Remington SA... Thanks!

BIG difference! you will have all kinds of room if you put a M5 into a CDI inlet. Mostly in the front as the CDI has a large rectangular front section. You could re-bed the M5 into the CDI to make it work if you really wanted to. The BDM my need to be adj up or down to make mags fit and feed properly also
