i remember reading somthing about certain kinds of bottom metal working better on stiller actions due to a little diffrent dementions. i tried a factory remington sa bottom metal and i didn't work real well. what have you folks used? ill probably go with a 5 shot detachable mag and id like to have it in stainless finish

I know of no one that makes a DM in stainless.
Not sure why your factory Remington didn't work. Most issues with BDL type bottom metal is the mag box isn't situated correctly.
Some will use a Wyatt BDL mag box to give longer COAL and a little more room but not sure if this would cause you the same issues as you are having now.

i can feed with a col of 2.825, mabye a little longer. this is my first custom build so i had aj brown do this so im sure its done correctly.
when you say wyatts dm doyou specifically mean wyatts or would cdi or similar company be just as good?

Wyatt makes a BDL mag box that will allow longer COAL when using a floor plate bottom metal. He also offers a DM but the mag proprietary to his DM bottom metal. If you wish to use AICS mags then you will need one of the bottom metals that use AICS such as Badger, CDI, Surgeon, or R&D.

Is it a Predator action? I know that the predators are set up to run a Wyatt box. The factory remmy box may be a bit sloppy then.

yes it is the predator, how are they set up specifically for wyatt mags not cdi or other company. id like to use ai mags if i have a good option.

A BDL mag box is different then a DM mag box. Take your floor plate off and the metal box between the bottom metal and the receiver is the BDL mag box. Wyatt makes a BDL mag box that is longer and works better with the Predator action.
