After the thread I made about this, I looked around, handled a few guns, and picked up my new addition.

Sig P290 - 9mm with Night Sights. Shooting 115grain Hornady Critical Defense.

Without the extended clip, it's still comfortable and is VERY concealable - with the extended clip(8 rounds, IIRC) it's very, very comfortable to my hands.

I'll have a chance to shoot her this next weekend and I'll give my ideas on how she shoots.

And the reason the top of the barrel is fading is due to the fact that my local gun shop was basically showing it off, and truthfully I've racked it quite a few times looking it up and down. Rest of the gun is flawless. It's a carry pistol - it doesn't have to be pretty, right?

I'm interested in a range report. Seems like lots of guys were having issues with theirs. Lots of FTF's and FTE's.

Cool. Hope you enjoy it. The one I tried ran nice, but I prefer my Kahr PM9.

Now, run a couple hundred rounds through it, and keep in with you EVERYWHERE you're allowed to!

Nice pickup. I was debating between that and a P238 HDW (a .380 instead of 9mm) for a miniature, and went with the P238 just to have something a little different. Some of the first run P290s did have minor problems with ejection, but most problems went away on their own after a hundred rounds and Sig was quick to fix the rest.
