Maggie’s Bow from Pallets and Ski

Beautiful. Archery/bowmaking is one of the most useful and most valuable skills a man can learn. Right up there with emergency first aid, driving a manual transmission and riding a motorcycle.

As these videos show, being able to BUILD and use a highly effective and very formidable projectile weapon from readily available components just puts a whole new level of self reliance, freedom, and security to one who knows how to do it.

I was a bow shooter before I immersed into the world of firearms, and the skills that I possessed from being a bow shooter ensured that I am able to also handle all types of firearms in a safe and responsible manner, and most importantly, shoot ACCURATELY.

In totalitarian countries with extremely restricted access to firearms, the bow may very well be one of the first steps a freedom fighter have to employ before being able to obtain firearms from dead government enforcers. Archery is the one skill that has enabled human beings to also hold their own against more powerful and agile predators, and thus transition from a hunting/gathering society into an agricultural and industrial one and build a fledgling planetary civilization.
