Boyds Tacticool for Savage Mk II at Midway

Re: Boyds Tacticool for Savage Mk II at Midway

That is so funny that they actually named it the Tacticool! Glad to see that they have a sense of humor.

So, what color are you going to paint it?

Re: Boyds Tacticool for Savage Mk II at Midway

Not sure yet. My daughter wants me to paint it pink or pink camo!

I still need to get a better bottom metal and trigger guard yet, DIP is back ordered, not sure of any others. May have a buddy cut me out a bottom metal out of Ti and then just come up with a trigger guard.

I would keep checking DIP. I wanted the kit but it was also backordered so i bought the trigger gaurd and two days later when it arrived the kit was back in stock.

ActuallY got online after the above post Monday and the DIP trigger guard and bottom metal were in stock so I ordered them, they arrived Thursday. Everything bolted right up. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but it looks good. Still have to paint the stock and will shoot it before I decide to bed it. If it even really needs bedded. Feels A LOT better than the cheap ass plastic stock that it came with.

Sits pretty flush. The rear is actually recessed and the front just barely sticks out, I mean barely. Not enough for me to worry about messing with it. The bottom metal could be inlet a bit but I dont k is if I'll mess with it or not either. I'll try and get some pictures this evening to show how it fits.

Jesus I think they forget to finish shaping the stocks before they send em out. Mine has deep belt sander marks and has buldges where there shouldn't be any. Still worth the savings over the pre finished one. Now I know why they use such an aggresive texture.
