Just the other day someone was asking how to reduce how far brass gets flung from his rifle.

Without ever asking a guy at work suggested buying some adhesive backed weather stripping, cutting to fit and apply to rifle. VOILA, brass doesn't go very far.

I found this at Home Depot. More than enough to do 20 rifles and cost just over $3.00. If you think it won't stay on long, try this. Use a hair dryer and heat the brass deflector before applying. After you stick it on, keep the hair dryer on it for a minute or so...and it should stay on for a very long time.

Let me know what you think...

Re: Brass Deflector Pad

I'm not alone.
That's exactly what my brass deflectors look like.
My brass comes out looking great, even on the large framed AR's.

I also slightly round the sharp corners of the extractor and on the barrel extension lugs than contact the case during feeding.
A tiny bit of filing, and stoning, and those long scratches on the cases will be greatly minimized.
My brass almost looks like it came from a bolt-gun.
