SUMMARY: So far sketchy at best. No details on contagious or noncontagious nature. No details on pathogen or chemical culprit yet. What is known is that this is not COVID. Symptoms are "seizures, frothing at the mouth, shivering". 100 "recovered" so far so this might rule out an actual infectious agent, due to how short duration of illness is. Of course, the regular government bullshit about "the situation is under control, no need to panic" is included in the report. And of course, any sane person knows NOT to issue such a statement unless the situation is CLEARLY under control. More people are being sent to the ICU in Andhra Pradesh as of right now.

    ----------
In a worrying development, around 227 people, including 46 children and 76 women, were hospitalised since Saturday night with symptoms resembling epilepsy in Andhra Pradesh's Eluru town. More than 140 patients have been from the hospital so far, while one person—a 45-year-old man—has succumbed to the mystery disease, as per the latest reports.

Medical and health experts have been rushed to the region on Sunday. Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Alla Krishna Srinivas alias Nani said that the situation is under control and medical help is being provided to all the needy. The patients are also being treated in private hospitals, the Minister said and added there is no danger to their lives and they are stable.

The victims complained of sudden collapses, frothing at mouth and shivering. More than 125 of those who were hospitalised on Saturday night were discharged on Sunday after they recovered. Most of the affected people were elderly and children. So far, the blood tests and CT (brain) scans have not revealed any cause for the sudden disease.

From a chemical gas leak to water pollution to a virus, several possible causes are being investigated right now. However, authorities have ruled out air and water pollution based on the initial assessment.

Affected people were brought to the hospital with complaints of dizziness and epilepsy. Water samples have been sent for testing to the laboratory and no water pollution has been reported. Blood samples of the patients have also been sent to the lab and no viral infections are detected. All the patients were tested for COVID-19 and all reports were reportedly negative.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was monitoring the situation personally and instructed the officials to be alert, he added. Special focus is on the areas which reported cases and medical camps are being set up to provide treatment to the patients. Door to door survey is being conducted to monitor the health condition of the people, he said.
The minister said more details will be known after test results come and there is no need to panic. Authorities were baffled as the affected people were neither related nor they had attended a common event. The Health Minister said 150 beds in Eluru and 50 beds in Vijayawada were kept ready for any emergency. "The government is taking all necessary steps. There is no need for any panic," he said.

Health authorities have also been asked to ensure availability of emergency medicines to deal with any situation. The governor directed officials of the local administration and Medical and Health Department to investigate the reasons behind such a large number of people suddenly falling ill, take the advice of experts on the issue and take immediate steps to resolve the issue and create awareness among people on the precautions to be followed to prevent such incidents from happening again.

China and India, The two most overpopulated countries in the world. The earth is trying to heal itself from the damage that the parasites are causing.
humans are the parasites. Both countries could stand to lose about a billion people. The whole world would benefit from it. Not trying to be cruel. Just stating the facts.

There is a lot of evidence that China had willingly covered up the first outbreaks last year, which makes them even more responsible for the coronavirus fuckery.

At least India is prompt at notifying the world about this. It is literally overnight that this happened, and lets hope they remain transparent about this serious situation. Seizures and frothing at the mouth sounds like a neurological issue. At worst, a type of encephalitis...

Billions of people living in squaler will breed this shit. As bad as India is, you should visit Bangladesh. They shit in the same water they bathe in and wash their clothes in.

    Sounds like a neurotoxin..

I am going towards a pesticide or insecticide used improperly if an infectious agent can be ruled out. Even a relatively "harmless to humans" insecticide such as permethrin can present SERIOUS neurological symptoms not unlike the ones described here when exposure is high, ie., bug foggers...

Either consumer misuse or industrial facility leak, both categories which are prevalent in India.

Poachers in India use a bunch of different toxins and poisons to kill tigers, elephants, whatever. Insecticides, pesticides, home-made versions of the same. Nasty stuff, 'cause it doesn't kill quickly and if it doesn't kill it'll cause brain damage or something else in the animals... and in humans. Wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of chemical contamination involved, and in a country where running water/sanitation/modern toilets are less-available (or outright disregarded as being "bad"), who knows what kind of fuckery would get into a water supply?

Saying human life is cheap in India, Bangladesh, and similar places is really an understatement when shit like THIS below happens routinely, is accepted, and is practically the norm...

Street food vendor washing plates in gutter water...

People also complain about 'police brutality'in the USA and I always LOL and tell them to look up what goes on in India... The "justice system" in India makes the Renaissance Inquisition look fair and legit...

Y'know, there are times when I've been outside the US and wanted to give street food a try. Some of it looked pretty damn tasty. That video reminds me why I didn't try it.

The testing grounds for covid19 vaccine?

Not unheard of for pharma to use pulled/untested drugs in poor countries.

    Shred

Was there some border fighting between India and China a few months back? Any chance it could be chemical weapons from China? I certainly wouldn't put it past them.
