On one hand, good, the way twitter 'works' is broken as shit and is 1984 level of censorship and organized disinformation.

On the other hand, he better do something super fucking amazing with it. I do know him buying it will have the stock price go up as does anything he mentions or gets involved in; I'm wondering if he is looking at this as something that removes all the censored bullshit and bots and turns into a place where no one even thinks of watching CNN or Fox because..........lets check twitter for what really happened.

Also the mass professional suicide via 'protests' of liberal socialists you've never heard of and don't give a single shit about will be glorious.

My guess, Twitter will start to be blacklisted everywhere. No apps, no retweet on corporate sites, no link posting on socials.

I quit using it (and failbook) years ago due to how they manipulate what you see.

I never have and don't intend to start Twitter, but I think this is a step in the right direction. That said I think the powers that be KNOW that shit is about to get real. The mid terms are right around the corner and all it would take is not very much for Congress to unleash hell on these social media companies, and that entire industry for that matter. Just look at Disney...the same stuff and more is in the pipeline so at least to me this is a way to stave off governmental intervention. Same is true for Facebook changing it's name and business model and all that. If Republicans get in charge there is a real possibility that the underlying foundation of how this stuff gets built will be altered in a permanent fashion.

Unless he quicky heads it off, they will internally scuttle the ship and all the partners will shun twitter til his investment is up in smoke.

Last year twitter made 4.7 billion in ad revenue alone. At that rate he could hang onto it for 10 years and Advertising revenue alone would’ve paid it off

I'm pretty sure that happened, only in a different format.

I genuinely think that there is genuine fear of governmental intervention against their entire industry. I'm certain that the people who are actually in the money see super wide scale crackdowns in the near future.

In that context it didn't take a lot to force them all to see the light.

Think it thru……how many of those advertisers are drawing up paperwork right now to pull their ads…….4.7 billion will become 1.2 billion over night and I don’t thing the pillow guy will make up the difference……

Considering back in the Obama election fraud days it was widely accepted that twitter was 90% fake accounts, and I cannot imagine it has gotten anything but worse, who exactly will still be there after the leftards jump ship. It's not like they will stay when confronted with logic they cannot ban.
 
Similar to how he sees Mars exploration as vital for human existence, I think he sees the freedom of speech the same way. Musk is in an interesting position with the assets and audience he has.

The drama queens at Twitter just want to be dramatic and unfortunately the CEO will probably try to fuel the fire in their call today.

I'm excited to see how this plays out. I don't think there's much for change but censorship will be down.

Of course Trump won't be back on Twitter, he's created his Truth Social. I haven't decided what I will do yet

Precisely. I bet he (Trump) is going to put all his efforts into his own platform, Truth Social. We'll have to see. I hope he allows Android users on ASAP (and desktop browser users as well). But I think that even if Trump isn't on Twitter, someone representing him will be... to relay things back and forth.
