Anyone have experience with the civilian version of the BAR. I recently acquired a 7mm Rem. Mag. I've heard these can be a real bear to load for something about the need for extra small base sizing die and other things not normally expected with a bolt gun. looking for some help before I start loading for this thing. Thanks Kenny

I've been loading for my BAR 30-06 for a couple of years without any problems of any kind. These things are made to shoot factory ammunition, so whatever you load that is in that ball park should be fine. I wouldn't load to copy, or shoot, the Hornady Superformance loads in a semi. I full-length size with regular dies. I have found the Sierra loading book to be pretty much middle of the road and safe for a gas gun. Do not use too fast of a powder and over-gas your rifle.

Mine is 30.06. Back when we used to shoot it (it did belong to my father-in-law) we shot the same reloads we made for his 743 Rem. 180 grain Sierra flat based spitzers, Federal primers and IMR 4350 powder. We used Pacific dies. No issues.
