Surely the fastest way to launch multiple 240gr SMK quietly, without the noise of a gas operated rifle ?
Does anyone here LOVE their BLR enough to finesse it to a custom rifle ?
I have mig welded an FN FAL magazine to the base of a BLR mag, to obtain high capacity, though the rig still has the standard barrel, I have the hots to fit a stainless fluted 16"' 1-9 Twist bull barrel and a supressor, with picatinny rail, retaining 308 Win chambering, because 175gr SMK will give Supersonic MOA accuracy in a 1-9 twist 308 Win, and also give the finest accuracy with 200gr SMK subs. Recently I had a 3 shot 1 inch group at 159 yards using a 1-9 308 Win and 10.5gr Trail Boss behind the 200gr SMK, in another much heavier rifle; no wind was mandatory.
Those of you who have handled standard BLR, may not know that a mirror finish if applied to the hammer where the bolt bears, enables a very slick action, and a trigger job gives as fine a trigger as could ever be imagined, just like a custom tuned high end revolver.
The forend mounting spigot can be beefed up to keep wood stable & floating.
Anyone else excited ?
The BLR is a real sleeper for custom work.
Have not checked out the take down version, but how wild for a quick barrel change to 30BR 1-18 Twist 22 inch bull barrel, 110gr Flat base heads, and suddenly you are nailing less than 1/2 MOA out to 300 yards. SWEET !
Gee
