Gunsmithing browning boss reinstallation

please help I unscrewed my boss system off of my rifle to clean it and now it doesn't go back on. please help i'm leaving for an elk hunt in 6 weeks and that is my main gun for this hunt.

now that you have it off, throw it as far as you can in a lake and go buy a real muzzel break! The boss thing is the loudest/annoying thing I have ever seen.

Do you really use ot to "dial" in you ammo? Or do you use it as a muzzel break? If its the latter, there are much better options.

Have you shot it without it?

As you can tell I hate those things. Even with ear protection they are two loud.

You may have inadvertantly cross threaded it. The threads may need to be chased. They have a BOSS CR- It is the same shape, contour etc, but is not ported thus quiet.

That is what I did to my 270. Agree that ported one is the MOST annoying piece. Rung my ears for 3 months ONCE. to the lake it went!!!!!!!!
