Browning Hells Canyon muzzle Brake

Hey everyone, need some gunsmithing tips. Just bought Halls Canyon in 6.5 creedmoor. Real nice little deer rifle for next year. In the process of taking it apart and cleaning it all up and have small problem. I can not. Get the damn muzzle brake off. Tried everything short of clamping on vice grips. Any tips that might help me to get it to break free. Otherwise I’ll have to take it back to the shop (an hour away) and let them deal with it. Thanks

This, tried the heat s well. Maybe tomorrow when I have someone else around, one holding the gun and one twisting it might come off. I thin that thread you’re referring to was about thread size for other braces and suppressors ??

Have you tried a drill bit or something similar size and run it through the ports To get more leverage on it?

And ya, I tried a drill bit and a punch and snapped them both

Better take that mug to the gunsmith I haven’t had any that bad. Couple have gotten sticky but able to pop em loose with a bit

Ya, just going to take it back to the shop where I bought it this morning. Let them deal with it however, fix, exchange ano if I don’t/can’t have in back in a reasonable amount of time, say two weeks, a refund.

Brand new in the box. I’m sure they’ll take care of it/me. Long time customer and this is the third brand new rifle plus two scopes I’ve bought from them in the past 10 months. Starting by meeting their gunsmith today, see if he can pop it loose. They really ought to put a drop of anti seize or something right at the factory. From manufacture to sale date could be a couple of years. Enough time to permanently seize and require a barrel change.

Yes, the one hey had on the wall in the shop did as well. The one I got out of the box Saturday morning certainly did not. Man it was stuck on there. I did finally get it off yesterday afternoon with a little heat, an allen key through the holes and a hammer.

Some tend to be tight out of the box. Try using a screw driver or pin the size of the holes in the break. Tape them up to prevent marking. If that doesn't help call them up and they should help.

Yup. Got it thanks, used a Allen key and small hammer with a little heat, finally broke loose. Now on to the next problem - which scope. .
