    So I picked up a used Remington PCR in 6.5CM during COVID and came up with a plan/challenge to build a PRS rig with decent glass for under $1,500. I had a couple of parameters as I started to put the plan together:

    1) No Chicom components. 1 exception is ar teh butler creek scope caps. I don't know how to get around this one and stay in budget.
    2) for $1,500 it would include rifle, bipod, 2 mags, scope, and rings.
    3) Scope had to be Japanese glass, x-mas tree reticle, illuminated, mil/mil.
    4) Rifle had to shoot under 1/2 moa with match ammo.

    I know what the "big green" accuracy warranty was for the PCRs, so I figured #4 above would be doable. And if not, I'd keep looking for a rifle.

    Well, after mounting a "temporary" scope and rings, this is what it shot, so I knew I was off to a good start.
    100 yards, 4 rounds, Hornady 140 ELDM. The "flyer" is the cold bore shot.

    My WTB post for the scope rings, shout out to

    @Mike Casselton

    for the recommendation

    The total breakdown is below, and do keep in mind that this project started almost 3 years ago with the rifle purchase. But I purchased the scope and stock the last few months - actually the scope was the last piece of the $1,500 puzzle. It came out to a hair above $1,500...but I'm pretty happy with the result!

    Looks like impressive accuracy with low effort and not much $. Good bang for the buck - hope you enjoy the future PRS matches!

    My 2019 built aac-sd 6.5cm also ended up being a 1/2 moa gun. Well, it wasn't with the factory hogue stock that touched the barrel so I replaced it with a grayboe renegade that I bought for $400 with bottom metal off the EE. Put some Warne rings and 20 moa (not that I needed it) base on it and I got an Athlon Ares BTR when Cameraland was liquidating the Gen 1s for $400. I've used that gun for some local PRS matches in addition to using it as my rifle of choice for hunting eastern NC crop fields. It's taken deer and coyotes past 700 yards and steel out to 1,200 with ease. Not bad for what was intended to be a cheap coyote eradicator.
