Budget friendly bipod

Leapers makes one for like $60 through optics planet ;)

Personally, I find bringing a pack and resting the rifle on top of it works far better in the field than a bipod. Along with a tripod when you need to get above natural ground obstructions is where I think it's at... not that you asked for opinions... To the actual question at hand for a panning bipod the Atlas V8 @ $220 isn't terribly expensive?

I’ll look into the atlas. The bipod probably won’t get too much use but I want it there as a “just in case.” The 9-13” model seems to be the most popular hunting length. I would think one would need longer for taller grass but most of my hunting will be in wooded areas with little concern as far as tall grass/brush goes

I’m not a hunter but maybe 3 shooting sticks tied with paracord or surgical tubing into a tripod shape that you can slide the joint up or down for height adjustment would work. I think you can get fiberglass rods at the hardware/garden store like are used to stake tomato plants. The last ones I ran across were green and fairly cheap, or maybe there’s some other source(old fishing rods. Probably plenty tough and light). That may be too cheap an option for you but it may do the trick. YMMV.

I was looking into these, while obviously no atlas, for the price I think it’s a pretty good bipod
I have one. I broke the bipod off the base in less than a month. It’s tig welded together now. I would take a hard pass. Spend the money and get an atlas if you want the pan feature.

Have a used atlas not using PM me of you want to get into one under retail in excellent shape. Regardless of what you do you can always add leg extensions if you start on a short atlas. Hard to make a tall one shorter.

How much were you thinking on the atlas? Also what model is it?

I was going to list both of my atlas one is a quick detach other is a bt-10 if I remember right. QD one on my 6x47 has hawk hill feet. I’ll figure out a price on both and PM you. Will be in accessories px once I get around to it as well.
