Buffer Tube DPMS LR-308

Re: Buffer Tube DPMS LR-308

Ok that was not a proper question sorry.

I am looking for a buffer tube that will fit the PRS stock for a DPMS LR-308 lower.

Will a A2 buffer tube from an AR-15 work? Or are they different?

Re: Buffer Tube DPMS LR-308

Unless you have a standard A2 buffer tube, the AR-15 uses a CARBINE length buffer, spring, and tube. What you will need for the Magpul PRS is a RIFLE length buffer, spring, and tube.

Here's the DPMS buffer for the LR-308 - https://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=913498

Here's the DPMS standard A2/rifle buffer tube - https://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=489724

Here's the DPMS rifle length buffer spring - https://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=797669

You'll notice that on the website it shows the rifle buffer and spring as out of stock; they are not. Call MidwayUSA and they will ship it to you.

Re: Buffer Tube DPMS LR-308

Make sure when you get the tube it's mil-spec extruded at the end, not welded as the additional recoil impulse from the .308 has the the capability of cracking the end of the buffer tube.
