Does it matter if you just fit the Buffer Weight full with weight disks & rubber partitions without any movement/Sliding when firing ?

Or does the movement ( slapping ) back & forth . of the weight disks in a Buffer weight . Make a difference in Cycling resistance when firing ?

The weights inside the buffer are designed to move freely. They provide a second "hit" when the bolt slams home to prevent a condition called bolt bounce, where the bolt actually chambers a round but bounces back out of battery.

When the bolt goes forward the weights are thrown to the back of the buffer. When it goes into battery and stops, the weights slam against the front of the buffer to keep it from bouncing back.
