Hello all,

I have recently decided to get into long range shooting for hunting/recreational purposes. I have never had any previous experience with long range rifles, but I have done some research over the past couple weeks. Currently in Afghanistan so I have nothing but time to get this thing right. Here is the build I'm looking at, I would appreciate any critiques or advice.

Remington 700 build
.308 Winchester barrel 20"
Manners T4A stock/mcmillan A5
Harris bipod
Leopold VX2 3-9 40mm/Burris 4x24
OD Green barrel, black/green stock

Stock: Manners Remington 700 MCS T4A (ADJUSTABLE / Vertical Grip / Hook / Beavertail) ADL BDL CDL SPS VTR XCR XHR

Optic: http://www.leupold.com/hunting-shooting/scopes/vx-2-riflescopes/vx-2-3-9x40mm/

Rifle: Remington 700 SPS Tactical 308 20" Barrel : Bolt Action Rifles at GunBroker.com

I'm looking to shoot out to 600 yards with the option of maybe going further, but I'm not too picky if I can't. Also, looking to hunt mainly boar.

Again, appreciate the help!
