First off thanks for checking this thread out. I am currently building my first T/R rifle and was wondering what length barrel and reamer would be suited for 175g+. I have a Kreiger blank cut to 29 with a trued and printed Remington action in 308, any advise or suggestions would be awesome. Thanks Matt

Most are running 30" barrels, but you'll be OK with a 28" tube.

Most are shooting 185 Berger's, or heavier. Lots of guys have gone to 200+ some are experimenting with 230s. That takes "a little" more freebore.

The F-TR reamer that PT&G currently sells for F-TR rifles that is optimized for the 185 Berger has a .168 freebore.

Nick Taylor told me, today, that 28" is optimal length for varget and other, similar burn rates. I saw guys shooting mid-high 190's with 24" bbl tactical rigs at Camp Lejeune today. And that was with SERIOUSLY TRICKY, shifting winds. It seems like good shooters can work with almost anything...
