Let me start by saying that yes I used the search function. I was not able to find the answers to my questions. I am sure they have been asked and answered before so perhaps my search skills are lacking.

I have two POF rifles, a P415 with an 18" barrel and a P308 with a 20" barrel. I currently have Troy folding HK style back up sights (I have not tried to zero these yet) on the P415 and no BUIS on the P308. I think I remember reading that the higher rail of the POF rifles require micro sights rather than standard height sights. Is this correct, and does it apply to both rifles?

My next question is about PMAGs. I currently run GEN2 mags in both rifles. I was wanting to try some of the GEN3 mags particularly in the P308. I want to try some of the new 10rd and 25rd mags. I thought that I read somewhere that the GEN1 and GEN2 mags were fine in POF rifles but not the GEN3. Is that true and does it apply to both the P415 and the P308?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I run Gen3 PMAGs in my P308 no problem.

Yes, you need to run micro BUIS on the POF ' S due to their raised rail. Bought the sights you have by accident and learned hard way they can't be zero due to raised rail.

I was not a fan of the Troy micros. Went with the Diamondhead Micro-D BUIS and they are awesome. Extremely well made and aiming in easy.

Diamondhead are the BUIS POF sells for their guns on their website.

padom, thanks very much you have answered most of my questions. I was checking out the Diamondhead BUIS and they look really nice. Does anyone know where you can find the best price on a set of these?

Best price is currently from POF. They are running a special with coupon code Freedom14. Or at least they were on Friday. Came to like $187

Thanks again for the help padom. I ended up going with a set of the Troy Micro folding HK style BUIS. There were a couple of reasons I went this way first let me say that I am extremely familiar and fond of the HK site picture. I currently own 4 custom HK clones and I have owned 5 others in the past. Next Troy had a 25% off sale plus free shipping and a free 30rd Troy Battle Mag for the 4th of July. So that is $149.25 total including shipping and I get a mag. That is considerably cheaper than I could find the Diamondhead Micro BUIS. I would still like to check those out but before I drop that kind of coin I would like to at least shoulder a rifle with them and see how I like them. I may end up trying the Diamondhead BUIS on my other POF.

Well, I mounted the Troy Micro BUIS on my P415 tonight they look great. Hopefully I can get it to the range soon and sight them in.

I also found what I think is a great deal on PMAGs for my P308. Western Sport had some good prices on GEN3 10rd and 25rd mags I thought I would pass it along. They have 10rd mags for $15.95 and 25rd mags for $19.95. They also have GEN2 20rd mags for $14.95 and GEN3 20rd mags for $16.95. I also liked the $4.95 flat rate shipping. I ordered 2 10rd mags and 4 25rd mags for $116.65 shipped. I have never ordered from these guys before but the prices are good and I am looking forward to getting these mags. With this order I should be good to go as I already have 6 20rd GEN2 mags.
