Bullets for Stock Rem 700 Varmit in .243?

I have a Rem 700 SPS Varmit (1 x 9 1/8 twist) in .243 on order. I'm gathering up the bullets for load development.

Right now I have 105 Amax and 105 Berger. I will be using Rel 17, CCIBR and Lapua cases. Will be picking up Rem or Win cases for lost brass matches.

I will use it for "tactical" matches. Won't be killing anything with it.

What other bullets would you guys recommend given the twist of the gun?

Your on the money with what you have but you could add the Sierra 107 if the others will not shoot.

What about Berger 95 VLD?

105 AMAX will work fine in that twist. Berger recommends an 8 twist for the 105 VLD and the Sierra might need faster too. The Berger 95s would work too. You should be able to get the 105 AMAX over 3000fps pretty easy and that would be a good long range round.

Don't forget about H4350 if the RL17 doesn't work.

Run the Berger 105s quick and the 1/9 SHOULD work. Easy to test though.

Lapua Scenar 90 is worth a try too.
