Can someone explain the pros and cons of bullets with Cannelure and those without Cannelure?

When you crimp too much a cannelure gives a bit of a buffer space to avoid upsetting the lead within the copper jacket.

A cannelure isn't as sexy as a bullet without it.

A cannelure is there so you can crimp the case mouth into the jacket thereby creating a mechanical lock which helps with ignition and bullet setback. Unfortunately a cannelure harms accuracy and that is why match bullets don’t have cannelures.
The cannelure on bullets is actually put there to prevent the bullet from being able to move once seated.
As others have stated, a cannelure with a crimp can degrade the accuracy of a match-grade bullet.
