Burris Tactical 1.5-6

Howdy all,

anyone have an opinion on these scopes? I'm looking to put some optics on my AR-10a4 Carbine. This seems to fill the ticket at half price of a NF. I checked one out and i liked the reticle and the glass was sharp, but I thought I'd seek first hand opinions. If any are out there. TIA,

Well after a little digging, I found this SHOT show review from Scott at Liberty optics. I think he's being a little vague, so I'll stay with my initial request...


Burris: I've been harsh on Burris in the past, for good reason, but I haven't called the current weather yet, so I sought them out at the Steiner booth and for the first time in 4 years I really checked them out, especially the Euro Diamond and Tactical which is their best. Conclusion: Still junk. Love the "Invisible knobs" where you can hear the clicks but can't feel a darn thing. The wire reticles are so badly finished is looks like someone painted them with a brush, with different colors. The optics were simply OK. I think these are made to make someone money and there is little to no effort in making these a good product. If you have to have one, you won't get it from us.

They seem to be really nice at first, but I had a problem with one. The 1.5-6 I had here for a while would shift point of impact when you changed the power ring. Going from 6x to 3x would drop the poi 1.5 inches and left 1 inch at 100. Of course Burris rebuilt it, but it was a problem that should have never been. Personally I'd look toward something else.
