just throwing this out for input and kicking around. any experiences and/or direct comparisons between burris ext tac xtr2 5-25 scr and ares btr 4.5-27 aplr3 reticle? both illum,mil/mil,ffp i know there are price differences and burris is 34mm. just like to know if anyone has good/bad experience with either and esp direct comparison knowledge. plan on using on 308 or 6.5 cm heavy barrel target rifles. no plans for field/hunting use,just for known distance paper punching. thanks for any input or replies.

I had a couple of the 4.5-27 Ares BTRs. Never tested them past 5 MILS on my 223, but they were darn close at 5. Glass was pretty good in both, better than the first couple XTRII's I had from the roll out, but a wash with a couple 5-25s I had last year. Either is GTG. Both are flying around cheap right now.
The Athlon you can set the zero stop where you want it, on the burris it is integral to the turret.
