putting a Bushnell Elite 4200 series 6-24x50 on a Rem short action. With the Burris Extreme Tactical rings, will I need the Med. or High?

I use lows with a NXS 50mm bell, 20MOA base over a M24/M40 barrel...

You won't like the mediums. They will be too high. I have a Rem 700 short action with the "varmit" contour barrel with a NF 20 moa base and a NF NSX with a 50mm objective and I got the mediums and they are too high. I have room to put my entire index finger under the objective between it and the barrell. Get the lows and if u need to sand down the caps. Take my advice. You won't like the mediums.

I have a similar setup and used to have the XTR mediums. They were too high. I got TPS lows and have been very pleased so far.

That's good to know as I'm about to order to TPS rings and was wondering about which ones. I was just gonna get the lows and hope they worked rather than get the mediums and them be too high like the Burris rings. The burris XT have done good for me, but I think there is better choices ecspecially when your clamping a $2000 scope down in them. I found TPS rings and decided to try them since the cost is similar and SWFA says they are good quality.

if you had the base, the scope and a stack of pennies... lows are 1/4" then its 1/2" med, 3/4" high and 1" extra high. set the scope on the pennies then measure the pennies and match the height with the ring. thats how i did it, then i read about others doing it here
