Bushing size for 6.5 Creedmoor?

Re: Bushing size for 6.5 Creedmoor?

You'll want to measure your neck. Then measure the inside. Add how much the bullet is going to expand the outside. Then get the bushing that bumps that down .002" That's plenty of hold.

Example:

You have fired brass that runs .294" OD. The inside is .265" (bullet slides in and out) Neck thickness then is .029".

So what deadly does is get a .289" bushing and that sizes down the neck .005" for .004" hold (cause remember theres .001" looseness in the neck when you started). I recommend a .291" bushing as that then give's you .002" hold instead of .004" It's a little thing, but helps with consistency.

If you're rough on equipment, i.e. doing a lot of low-crawling, it wouldn't be a bad thing to go with .004" hold.

Bottom line: get the measurements and then make the choice of bushing size.
