I had to use a low profile gas block to fit under the rail. Space is tight using the rail, but I got it to work.
The ORC has worked great for me. Not one issue with it yet. I have about 1000 rounds through it, no malfunctions yet using Magpuls awesome mags, holds about .75 MOA using m118 LR, and can hit 10" steel plates out to 800. So far, nice carbine and works very well using the factory 16" barrel. </div></div>
Do you remember the barrel diameter of you ORC where the gas block is? What brand/type of gas block did you buy? I would also like more info about your rail. </div></div>
The barrel diameter at the gas block is the standard .750", like most barrels. The gas block I used I already had on hand. Purchased it from Brownells. I think that it was Midwest Industries made block. With the DPMS rail I used, you have to get a gas block that uses the set screw setup that is low profile. The clamping version will not have enough clearance with the DPMS rail. Also, the block has to be the smallest you can get in order to work. I only had enough room to get the set screws tight.
The rail is at the following link. Although it is heavy, it is pretty stout.
