Just bought a Remi 700sps Tactical in 308 and a Bushnell 4200 elite tactical 6-24x50. I was wondering if anybody has this same setup and what base and rings they used.....results? I was going to use some burris xtr rings but I havent decided on the base yet.

The Burris XTR Low rings and EGW 20 moa base. You can't get any better for the money.

I have a Rem 700 5R Milspec with a Bushnell Elite 6x24x50 and I have the Burris XTR Rings (Med) and a 20 MOA Warne base. I would question clearance with the low rings if you have the sunshade on with a 20 MOA base and scope caps.. Here is a pic of mine.

I believe the EGW bases run a little higher than a Warne base.

Here is a Monarch X 4-16X50 mounted on a 700 Tact EGW 20 noa base and XTR Low rings

Max... Notice that you also do not have a sunshade on your scope which with the canted base will bring he scope closer to the barrel the longer the sunshade is. The base is canted so the longer the scope is the the closer it will get to the barrel at the end of the scope. Just something to keep in mind. And yeah it does look like the EGW base sits higher then the Warne. All good points for him to consider.

Whit Nf20moa base you can use burris medium. there is still 6mm gap but thats not enough for xtr low rings. atleast if you have scopes caps on.

Re: Bushnell 4200 Elite tactical 6-24x50 mounting

Thanks for all your input, I think I am going to go with the 20 MOA Warne base

Re: Bushnell 4200 Elite tactical 6-24x50 mounting

Are you after a 100 yard zero? A 20MOA base might be pushing it for this scope..

Re: Bushnell 4200 Elite tactical 6-24x50 mounting

I have this scope on my Rem 700 PSS and when using a 20 MOA Warne base and Burris XTR rings (low) I still was 7 MOA short on the bottom end. Not enough adjustment.

Solution:
leupold 20 MOA (turn in) base. Burris Signature rings w/ +10 insert on the front (bottom) ring -10 insert on top. Rear ring using the "0" inserts.

This gives me 3 moa adjustment on the bottom side of the 100 yard zero and 41 moa on the top
