Like the title says. Which one is better for the money. Bushnell Forge 4.5-27x50 FFP for $560 or the Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 around the same price

Honestly, I'd say 'neither' and get the Match Pro from Bushnell at $499. I've run the Forge 4-27 (in illuminated/MOA) and 3-18 (non-illuminated/mil) and prefer the turrets on the Match Pro. The MP gives up nothing on glass to the Forge, but it does lack the zero stop and throw lever, but the MP has a tool-free zero reset. The zero stop isn't a big deal, IMO.

locking turrets - bushnell
turret feel - bushnell if they feel like other bushnells I have
Illumination - athlon
elevation/windage - athlon
both have zero stop
Forge comes with more extras included (glass cleaning cloth, sunshade, caps, and scope cover)
I have not looked through the forge line but saw they were on sale and thought about picking one up for a hunting rifle. Like the locking turret. I plan to order one to check it out.
Have two ares btr 4.5-27 & 2.5-15, eyebox sucks above 85% magnification on the 4.5-27, the 2.5-15 seems better but not sure why. Both have a tunneling effect. Tracking has been absolutely spot on with the two I have. Last weekend shot both on tall target at 100y. Two ten shot strings dialing 20moa and back to 0 alternating between shots.
