Going to be making my first purchase on a range finder...i have read and watched a few reviews on each. I have used a Leica 1000 once before and was impressed. But I also love the idea of having Binoculars and a range finder combo. I believe I have no use for either one of their ballistics programs built in. What are your thoughts, impressions and experience? Thanks for any advice!

Re: Bushnell Fusion 1600 VS Leica CRF 1600?

Had a Bushnell range finder (sold) that could hardly range half of its rated distance and a Leica 1200 (current) that will do 1000+yards all the time and 1340yards on a good day. Will upgrade to the Leica 1600 when I have the spare $$$.

I've used my Bushies down in AZ with no problems, ranges from 0-1560 yds. Ranged a saguaro at 800+ easily. No experience with Leica.

they advertise that they have preloaded bullet drops built in...you have to find one that fits closely to your ammo. only feature i think i would use other then the distance is the angle feature.

I think the new bushnell fusion in both monocular and binocular are a great choice. Imho they have the best laser of all the sub $1000.00 choices.
And yes they do or at least did offer a built in bullet bullet drop , but as with all of the pre loaded programs its has limited use.

+1 for the Leica 1600....Have had one, sence they came out w/ NO probs. Clear glass!
Sorry, have never used the ballistics feature.

Had a Leica 1200, befor that, with NO probs.

Remember.....You get what you pay for!

Re: Bushnell Fusion 1600 VS Leica CRF 1600?

thanks for the info; I am really going to try and get my hands on fusion just so i can give it a fair chance.. but i am leaning heavily to the Leica...its size has its appeal to me.

Re: Bushnell Fusion 1600 VS Leica CRF 1600?

i never used the Leica 1600 but had a 1200 and it couldn't laser a 12 inch plate past 600-700.

I now have a Bushnell Fusion 1600 and have lasered 12 inch plates past 900 and a cow to 1500yds.

I realy like the bushnell fusion as its a dual pupose for me since i hunt alot as well.

Leica quality of glass is excellent and as stated i have no expereience with their new one, but i'm diggin my Fusions.

Re: Bushnell Fusion 1600 VS Leica CRF 1600?

I have both the Leica 1600, and the Bushnell Fusion 1600, and Swarovski range finders. The Leica work good, after I had to send the first ones back. Would not range anything past 500 yards. Swarovski Had to sent back three times. Still having a hard time past 1000 yards. The Bushnell Fusion are hands down the best range finders I have used so far. Plus there are a good pair of bino's. I got the Bushnell's for the ranging capabilities.

Re: Bushnell Fusion 1600 VS Leica CRF 1600?

Bushnell Fusion's here. I used to have a CRF 1200, and LRF 1200. The Bushnell's range 600+ yards further than Leica's. The Leica's (both of them) only got to about 700 yards.

Re: Bushnell Fusion 1600 VS Leica CRF 1600?

+1 for Bushnell.

Can't compare it to Leica or Swaro as I never handled either one. But Bushnell got me perfectly on targets, confirmed with the first shot hits taken with Bushnell-produced range fed into Bullet Flight calculator. So far up to 1000 yards, hope to "grow longer legs" (soon?).
