What does it look like in "normal" shooting hours? Is it dark enough to use in the day or is the crosshair too pale? Any opinions from users would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have one and it is just a normal reticle during day (black reticle).

When you put a good flashlight (forget the one that comes with the scope...) on the objective for about 30s to 1 min, the reticle will "turn on" green.

For the first 5 minutes it will be very, very bright.

After 15 minutes it will be much lower bright, but in the dark you will see it clearly. And, in my experience, will stay visible for about one hour.

I think it is not a substitute for an iluminated reticle, but it will work very well for the sundown period of day, when the ambient light is vanishing fast and in 30 or 45 minutes is dark.
This is the situation this reticle was designed for.
