I'd get the gap reticle.
After looking through a 4-16 PST, I'd scratch that one from my list.
The 6-24 has a much better rep for glass. haven't seen one of those though.

The reticle is nice on the HDMR, it's compact, and the turrets are positive. With that said, I like the PST better for its better price, and more options (zero stop). The PST also has positive turrets, and I actually liked the reticle in them mostly because I don't hold elevation adjustments, just wind, so the GAP doesn't appeal to me quite as much. Just an opinion.
I had the 6-24 and the glass was very nice, and I have looked or owned all of the higher and highest end glass in comparison. Does it compare to an S&B? No, but it is very nice glass. I don't consider amazing glass to be a very big determining factor though. Of course you don't want Tasco glass in a 1k optic, but it wouldn't gender you from competing, and shooting accurately.
