I am laying down the coin on a earth color FN tactical and would like to here range reports from FN 45 owners and people who have shot one. Are they as nice as the write ups? I guess I got caught up in the hype I want one bad. At 967.00 is not a cheap but not to high price too. I want the step on the slide for the red dot site and the earth color but the treaded barrel was nice to have a comp on it also. So lets hear what you guys have to say about the FN,s

Absolutely love mine although its a big one for carry. One of the most accurate handguns I've ever fired. I can drop 12 6" plates from 15 yards in an average of 14-16 seconds.

I am holding off until FN does another military rebate. A friend of mine has one and it is really, really impressive. Very accurate, great trigger, good ergos (for a DS .45) and the sight are excellent, too. It is definitely on my short list for handguns to buy.

Re: Buying a FN FNP 45 tactical

That is a lot of coin for a relatively new set up (The red dot on the slide). Have you shot one yet? I have shot the pistol with factory sights and while it does feel to a certain extent, like a cordless drill (Good analogy), it is a fine gun to shoot, accurate etc. Surprisingly, the grip is well designed for such a big pistol. I personally have been tempted to buy one and have also tried the whole HK USP MK 23 line as well as the SIG P220 line and I keep coming back to my Glocks.

FWIW....

Of the 6-7 folks I have spoken to about this gun (who own and shoot one), only one was shooting it in a tactical application, most were "playing the game" with it.
