BXR Headspace

New to me is shimming CZ 22 bolts to reduce excessive headspace. Many reports of greatly improved group size. I have a BXR that has never shot better than 0.450” groups at 50 yards Even with Lapua and Eley. Measured the recess depth in the bolt today and came up with 0.059”. That is 0.015” more than the optimum 0.044”.
Anyone worked on reducing BXR headspace?

Looks like a Ruger 10/22 clone. Sanding/machining the bolt face would be about the only way? Or pulling the barrel and machine the tenon longer.

Found an easy way to get a 0.042” headspace. Ordered a Kidd replacement bolt.
