Re: Cabela’s Bargain Cave?
A Cabela's opened up in Hartford, Ct a couple years ago.
I check out the bargain cave every time I go. Most of the stuff in there should be discounted more than it is. I've seen boots at least 2 seasons old with dirt and grass still on them and they have them marked $15 below retail. Occasionally I do find a deal. I found a Pfleuger Supreme spinning reel for half price. It appeared to be new, but was marked down because it was missing the spare spool. I already had the same reel, so I didn't really need 2 spare spools. Of course, another time, I bought a 12pk of Surefire 123a batteries that was missing one battery for $10. The problem is, out of the 11 remaining batteries, only 3 were good. That's the problem with bargain cave gear. Once you buy it it's your problem. Since Cabelas CS is so good, I thind most tomes you're better off paying a few $ more for new, and if you ever have a problem with it, you can return it for a refund or exchange .
