My friend and I each got one they work, but there is aprox 1-3 mph dif on wind and 5 on temp between the two units. but it at least gives you some imput on the conditions. Im stilll looking at getting the Kestral.
have used one the last year agree eats battery but seems accurate enough. still have to visually read wind at target so the caldwell gives you a good ref start
Pay the dollars and get a decent wind device that is accurate. Had mine out today got an idea what was happening but had to use the force and make educated guess as the wind was swirling- ultimately you must educate your own senses. As far as reading wind at target you can't if there is no sign best read wind closer to you
