When you read how he got his ass Waco'd in the end it's pretty fucked up. All his actions prior to those events seem to indicate he was a pretty decent person, but I haven't really looked much beyond the general point of dissatisfaction with how it ended up. Hard to see it as basically anything other than an inner tribal feud, and now we'll probably never know the whole story or even get an accurate explanation for the events we now all know about.
