can someone educate me on ar-10 triggers?

Gents,

I have a couple year old GAP armalite AR10.

1. who made the stock trigger for GAP? to me it feels to be almost a 2 stage trigger, i started out on a bolt gun and i am not a fan of this trigger.
2. what, preferably a drop in trigger, would you suggest for a bolt gun guy? my bolt gun was set by GAP at 2.5lbs

Geissele SSA-E is a popular trigger for the GAP-10 (GAP offers it as an upgrade). I do not know who makes the base model GAP-10 trigger.

I am not positive but I think that GAP uses the Armalite 2 stage trigger unless you get the Geissele upgrade. I run a SSA-E in my .308 Mega MATEN and its great. Coming from a bolt gun to a AR-10 platform you are not going to get the same "feel" in any trigger but the higher end Geissele's will be as close as you are gonna get.

IMO, the closest you're going to get in a semi auto would be the JP trigger. It's far from drop in though. I know almost everyone will recommend Geissele, which I don't disagree with if you want a 2 stage. But Geissele doesn't make a single stage. If you want a single stage, JP is my pick.
