I think you would be better off starting with 260, but 308 will work in a pinch, it'll be .020 short of trim length. The Creedmoor shoulder would have to move forward and you would still have a case .115" short.

I am not saying it should be done, but if it is going to be done, use something like the cream of wheat method with a charge of pistol powder.

Firing an actual bullet with that much headspace could be disasterous.
