I picked up an old 40x rimfire awhile ago, It was in rough shape and full of crud. It has a Canjar 700-LP trigger. It was set VERY light ( didn't even show up on a Lyman digital gauge, under 1oz) If the bolt wasn't closed slowly the firing pin would "follow" the bolt handle down.

So I disassembled the bolt and cleaned everything up good. Cleaned the trigger with brake clean and then lighter fluid.

When I put it back together I couldn't get the trigger to trip the firing pin "fire". The trigger lever disconnects from the sear but the sear wont drop to allow the cocking piece and firing pin to go forward.

If I push up and keep steady pressure on the "middle lever" the trigger will function properly. I thought that maybe I Iost a spring that does this but after finding a diagram about halfway down this article it appears that all the pieces are there.

It is acting like there is not enough pressure from the cocking piece on the bolt against the sear.

I tried the my timney trigger in it and it worked fine, when I put the Canjar trigger in my sps I got the same results.

Anyone got any ideas?
