Has anybody here ever tried to build a large frame AR and used a Lancer handguard or similar, and a Proof Research barrel or similar?
How much weight did it save?
Would you do it again, and what were the positives and negatives of the setup?

I am contemplating a "precision" build, with the above parts and JP enterprises LMOS system, gas block, buffer, bolt carrier and all. I do want to use a PRS stock though and cant decide if I am heading the wrong direction. I will probably do it in a 6.5 cm or a .260 Rem.

I built a 6.5 Grendel right before Newtown last year that was similar, but with a 24" heavy stainless barrel plus a large brake and the 15" JP modular handguard and it was too heavy so I sold it during the scare.
