Can anyone tell me where i can find the carbon fiber sleeves like the ones used on ruger 10 22 barrels? volquartsen has some that i like but i dont want to have to by a barrel just to get one. I have looked at mcmaster carr for one but they dont have the right OD im looking for. I am looking .920 O.D. or .925 O.D.
Thanks for the help!

Re: carbon fiber sleeve

I've never heard of a carbon fiber barrel sleeve. Carbon fiber barrels I'm familiar with are wrapped and its an entire process that's not realistic for DIY. The volquartsens are not sleeved, so there is not a sleeve to remove. You probably going to have to buy a complete barrel. If you want a carbon fiber barrel for a rifle other than a 10/22 then look up info about ABS carbon fiber barrels on the web. There are places to get carbon fiber tubing if you just want to make something for looks, but I can't think of any companies or suppliers...sorry

Re: carbon fiber sleeve

The volquartsen do have a (THM Tension Barrel, Carbon Fiber Sleeve) i have 3 different ones on 10 22 rugers. The inner barrel is tenioned with the carbon sleeve over it with a special nut. They also have one with a aluminum sleeve.Im just looking some carbon tubing the right O.D. for a project 10 22 barrel im working on.
Thanks
