CDI DBM for Howa mini

Has anyone tried the CDI bottom metal for the Howa mini actions? Is it drop in, including using the stock action screws?

I've been running CDI on my Win70 for a very long time, but it did not fit in any of the factory dimensions and I had to inlet the stock, shorten the action screws, and remove some of the receiver's metal in order to obtain correct fitment. I don't have time to dick with that again with the howa.

Can’t you send it in and they’ll do all that for you? I thought that was part of the price structure

If you buy from CDI, just send them the stock and they will inlet it. Send them the stock and action and they will fit it and make sure it works. They are a great company to deal with...never had an issue and very nice people.

They might put a bottom metal on whatever you send them but from what I've seen it does not look very functional for the Howa Mini. There's like a 5/8" difference in magazine lengths... lipstick on a pig.

That is a little goofy. Wish someone would just make a good aluminum BDL bottom metal and mag box for them.

Thank you for the post, I was unaware that this DBM was using AI mags. My howa mags have been spot on, I just want stronger bottom metal. I think I will pass on this idea until someone comes up with a real drop in replacement.
