Re: ceracoat,duracoat,krylon....
Spray away, Cerakote is awesome for durability but needs blasted and baked. Duracoat is great for a permanent finish and ease of use. And Krylon is great since it can be redo over and over.
I've never used Cerakote personally but have a 1911 finished in it and works great. I've done several pieces with Duracoat and its pretty harsh so use a respirator. Krlyon is super easy to use and cheap but I didn't like the tacky/sticky feel after wards. And my rattle can job was a shotgun that sat in our closet and flooded so all the paint chipped off. I refinished it in Duracoat and am satisfied.
But have at it.
